Informal Provider Training **Winter/Spring 2007 Courses Added**
Care Solutions, Inc. is providing training through the DHR, DFCS, Child Care Unit to help informal/unregulated and family child care providers obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to establish and maintain a safe and developmentally-appropriate in-home child care setting. These free trainings are open only to informal/unregulated and family child care providers receiving child care subsidies through the CAPS program. Pre-registration is required and there will be no on-site registration.
Informal/unregulated child care providers may satisfy the CAPS annual requirement of 8 state-accepted training hours by taking those hours in one day. Family child care providers, required by Bright from the Start to have a minimum of 10 state-accepted training hours annually, should be aware that no more than 6 of those 10 credit hours may be earned in any one day. The two-hour sessions may be taken separately to meet individual training needs. The sessions being offered meet Health and Safety training requirements. Each participant will receive resource materials and will have the opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate.
