Care Solutions Publishes Louisiana’s 2007 Child Care Market Rate Survey
For the third time since 2003, Care Solutions, Inc. was chosen by the Louisiana Department of Social Services to survey the local market costs of child care throughout the state. The results of these studies assist the state in determining payment rates for subsidized child care.
In addition to rate information, these studies collect information on the child care setting; other services offered, such as transportation or sick child care; staffing; and teacher education/credentials.
The Louisiana Department of Social Services (DSS), Office of Family Support, subsidizes a portion of the child care expenses incurred by qualifying low-income families and families receiving protective services. These payments allow low-income families to participate in training, attend school or maintain employment.
Care Solutions, Inc. has significant experience in designing and conducting child care market rate surveys, including surveys in Georgia, and in Louisiana in 2003 and 2005.
