How do I complete a course?
Each class has three components: a pre-test to help gauge what you already know about the topic, a clear, attractive presentation to teach you more, and a post-test to ensure that you have mastered the course material.

1. Complete the pre-test and watch the presentation whenever you're ready.
2. Print out the post-test and show us what you've learned!
3. Mail the completed post-test and evaluation to us, together with your payment, at the address on the post-test.

If you successfully complete the post-test and include your evaluation, we will mail you a personalized certificate showing that you completed two hours of state-approved training and earned .2 CEUs. It's just that simple! Please wait 2-4 weeks for delivery of your certificate.
If a satisfactory score is not achieved on the first submission, you will have 7 days to repeat the course and re-submit your post-test without additional charges.

What does this course cost?
You can view the course materials at any time without charge - you pay only when you decide to request training credit. When you submit your completed post-test to Care Solutions, enclose a check or money order for $12 for each two-hour course. If you wish to submit tests for more than one course or from more than one participant, you may pay with a single check in the amount of $12 for each course/each person. For example, if you submit a test for Nutrition & Exercise and one for Indoor Safety, enclose a check or money order for $24. If three staff members each complete the Outdoor Safety test, enclose a check or money order for $36.

What equipment do I need to use this CD? Do I need internet access?
You do not need internet access to complete these courses if you are taking them on CD. To view the courses, you will need an Internet browser (such as Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox) and a copy of Adobe Reader. If you have the CD version, Adobe Reader is included free on the disc, in case you do not already have it installed on your computer.

If you wish to take them online, you will need a connection to the Internet. The courses have been designed to work well regardless of your connection speed. You will need a copy of Adobe Reader to view the pre-test, post-test, and resources. If you do not have this program installed on your computer, you can download a free copy from http://www.adobe.com.

You will also need a printer for the pre-test and post-test.

Are these courses approved by Bright from the Start? Do they count towards…?
Yes! All of our courses have been approved by Georgia's training registry. You can count these classes towards your annual training requirements. Care Solutions, Inc. is an authorized provider of continuing education and training with IACET, and has offered training courses at workshops and conferences through Creating Connections...Enhancing Potential. Our trainings are based on up-to-date research combined with experience in the fields of childcare, social work, and education.

Will my hours be reported to the Georgia Early Care and Education Professional Development Registry?
Care Solutions is proud to collaborate with the Professional Development Registry, which helps to track the continuing professional development of Georgia's childcare providers. If you would like your hours to be reported to the Professional Development Registry, simply check the box at the bottom of your post-test. Can I earn CEUs?
Yes! Care Solutions is authorized by IACET to provide Continuing Education Units. If you would like to earn CEUs for the courses you complete with Care Solutions, simply check the box at the bottom of your post-test. There is no additional charge for CEUs.

Printing the Pre-test and Post-test
The pre-test and post-test are PDF files, which can be read and opened by any computer that has Adobe Reader installed. If this program is already installed on your computer, simply click on the link to the test and it will open in another window where you can print out a copy.

If you need to install Adobe Reader, you will find a free copy on this disc (if you are using a CD to view the course) or available for download at http://www.adobe.com (if you are using the online version of this course).

Viewing the Course Materials
This course runs in an internet browser. However, you do not need internet access to complete these courses - they are available on a self-contained CD, too. If you have questions about using your browser, open the Help menu in the bar at the top of the screen.

Navigating the Course
Each course is designed as a series of screens that you can read at your own pace.
To move to the next screen, click on the word "Next" at the bottom of the screen. To return to a screen you've already seen, click on the word "Previous" at the bottom of the screen. If you want to exit the course at any time, click on the word "Exit" at the bottom of the screen. When you are ready to return to the course, you can quickly return to the last screen you viewed by clicking "Next" repeatedly.

Checkpoints and Quizzes
Some screens contain quiz questions with multiple answers. Click on your answer to see if you are right! If you have chosen the right answer, you can move to the next screen by clicking on the word "Next" at the bottom of the screen. If not, click on the words "Try Again" or on the word "Previous" at the bottom of the screen. Then look for a better answer.

You will not be able to continue with the class until you have correctly answered the question, but don't worry: there's no time limit and your answers are not graded. If you really get stuck, remember that you can go back to re-read earlier screens by clicking on the word "Previous" at the bottom of the screen. Then use "Next" to return to the quiz screen.

From the main page of any course, click on "Resources" to reach the Resource page. You can view the resources in your browser or save copies of the files to your computer.
