 Early childhood educators thinking about going back to school experienced “one-stop-shopping” at the GAYC Conference on Oct. 9, 2009 at the SCHOLARSHIPS & INCENTIVES college fair. The “Extreme Makeover – Career Edition” event featured 13 educational institutions, the Georgia Student Finance Commission and the host, Bright from the Start’s SCHOLARSHIPS & INCENTIVES program.
Attendees at the GAYC Conference (the fall professional development event of the Georgia Association on Young Children) had the chance to visit with technical colleges and four-year institutions offering early childhood certificates, diplomas and degrees, as well as CDA Credential course work. At the same time, they could get information on financial aid available to those who are working full-time in early care and education. Click here for a list of this year's College Fair participants.
Later in the day and on Saturday of the conference, additional information on SCHOLARSHIPS & INCENTIVES was available in the exhibit hall, including the announcement of the new $1,200 FIRST incentive offered by Bright from the Start. For more information on FIRST, click here.
