Care Solutions President Carla Rogg Nominated for Industry Technology Award

Carla S. Rogg, President of Care Solutions, Inc., was nominated for the 2009 Woman of the Year in Technology Award, an annual program that celebrates women executives in technology in their accomplishments as leaders in business, as visionaries of technology, and as women who make a difference in their communities.   The awards program is sponsored by Women In Technology (WIT) and presented by Grant Thornton; the nomination process took place earlier this year and the awards dinner was held in October.

WIT's mission is to develop and promote women for success in technology in Georgia. To qualify for the annual Woman of the Year award, women must hold business, technology or scientific leadership roles within a technology organization or hold technology or scientific leadership roles within a non-technology organization.  Ms. Rogg was nominated in the emerging/small organizations category (up to 250 employees).

Two clients of Care Solutions served as nominators.  One wrote, “As a client of Care Solutions, Inc., I have known Carla Rogg for several years and have personally observed her commitment to the growth and development of her company and to the early care and education industry in our state, of which our organization is a key component.  Care Solutions is a leader in the use of technology to support program management and evaluation in the human services and child care arenas.”

“Carla’s experience in our industry started in the early 1990s when she was funded by the state to write and deliver training curriculum to child care professionals.  Early on, Carla recognized the importance of expanding her company’s technology capabilities.  Care Solutions has created online and other data systems to support many client programs, including its proprietary software system designed to manage and track training participants, payments, CEUs and more.”

The nomination also recognized Ms. Rogg’s community leadership.   Ms. Rogg founded and chairs Communities for Children, a 501(c)3 organization.  The vision of this non-profit organization is that all children in the state of Georgia will have a sense of dignity and will experience some of the most basic, simple pleasures of childhood.  Projects on behalf of foster children which have been conducted by Communities for Children include bicycle and luggage donation campaigns and the “Send a Bear to Foster Care” campaign.

As a parent of four children, Ms. Rogg has also served in numerous volunteer capacities over the years related to their educational and enrichment activities.  In 2005, Ms. Rogg chaired the Holy Innocents Episcopal School Fine Arts Alliance’s first Showcase Celebration of the Arts.  She is also a member of the Dunwoody United Methodist Church, "Committee of 100.”

In her thank you to WIT, Ms. Rogg noted, “The recognition given to our firm by my nomination was an honor in and of itself.  Having founded this firm almost twenty years ago, it is with great pride when I look to see where we are today and how far we have come.  I see people who are committed to the work they do and people who have been with us almost since the beginning.  I see people who approach their job, not as a job but a place where they can make a difference through their work.  I see work products and efforts that go beyond the client’s expectations. We do and have always done the right work for the right purpose. I am a very fortunate individual.”
