| Allergic rhinitis
is an allergic disease that affects the mucous membranes of the
nose and often the eyes. It is sometimes seasonal, but not always.
Seasonal allergic rhinitis is usually caused by sensitivity to pollen,
while rhinitis that is not seasonal is related to environmental
factors like house dust, feathers, mold spores, animal dander and
some foods.
- Sneezing
- Nasal itching
- Runny and stuffy nose
- Watery eyes, itchy eyes
- Fatigue
- Loss of appetite
For children over 6 months of age your pediatrician may recommend
an antihistamine. Always ask your physician before giving a child
over-the-counter medication.
