Bronchiolitis is a common respiratory infection. It is usually caused by a virus and is often seen in the winter months in children under age two. A child can get this illness through contact with an individual who has an upper respiratory illness.

Symptoms include:

  • Sneezing
  • Runny nose
  • Wheezing
  • Coughing
  • Trouble breathing

Treatment:

You may want to use a bulb syringe to clear mucous from the child’s nose and you should offer lots of fluids. Contact your health provider as prescription medication may be indicated.
