The Georgia Child Care Council was created by state legislation in 1991 to distribute 4% of the federal Child Care and Development Block Grant funds allocated to Georgia to increase the availability, affordability and quality of early childhood and school-age care.

Mission and purpose of the council:
GCCC’s mission is to influence public policy, elevate public awareness and encourage partnerships, in order to make quality childcare accessible and affordable for all Georgians.
