Pink eye is an inflammation and infection of the eyelid and/or eye. It is the most common of all eye disorders in young children and is usually due to a bacterial or viral infection. Viral pink eye is very contagious.

Symptoms:

  • Irritation and sensation of something in the eye
  • Itching and watering of the eyes
  • Light hurts eyes
  • Eyelids stick together
  • Discharge

Treatment:

  • Contact your health care provider. Most cases require prescription medication.
